Chintamani

Our study of the rich cultural heritage passed on by generation of the gifted weaver’s community from Chintamani was more than an academic exercise.
The fascinating process which turns the simple mulberry silk yarns into super attractive six-yard sarees, the way of life of the weaver families in Chintamani, the handloom operations and initiating and training the Gen Next into their traditional weaving skills was a new revelation of their long journey.

The project aims to capture it all, from geography to demography and culture to trends about the Chintamani saree.
